What even is this website?
This website is one made solely for the purpose of mathematics, by Ayaan Amin. I am a student from India (IN) and am very enthusiastic in fields of both mathematics and a bit of physics.
Mathematics is one kind of art which I feel is able to be loved by everyone. For one, if wanting to study in any field, knowing mathematics is essential. Some examples include:
-
Physics
Mathematics is the sole building block of physics. If to study any physical phenomenon mathematics is required. For example - In the branch of physics called "Kinematics", even if we were to measure simplest quantities such as speed or velocity we need a deep understanding of graphs, their derivatives and their behaviours.
-
Chemistry
In chemistry, if we were to study quantum chemistry, or any branch in physical or organic chemistry a great deal of mathematics is a prerequisite.
-
Architecture
In architecture the students or people deal with tiring mathematical calculations. Mathematics is fundamental to architecture, serving as the invisible framework that ensures structural safety, functional efficiency, and aesthetic harmony. Thus maths is essential here as well.
Many more examples are there but for sake of brevity we are not to include that here.
Before going into all our topics it is important for us to know what we are dealing with-

First Part - Arithmetic
Arithmetic in simple words is the field of mathematics which deals with operations on numbers. Some of these operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponentiation, etc.
The 4 basic operations that one has to be comfortable with for reading this part are-
- Addition -The operation that is responsible for finding total of the numbers or quantities accordingly. It is denoted by "+" and for giving the total the "=" (Equal to) sign is used
For example-In addition of the numbers(the readers should know atleast the counting numbers and 0) 2 and 5 we will get the result "7" i.e. 2+5=7. For finding simple sums(totals) we just count the number added to the first number , in simple words in the case of 3+4 we count 4 more digits after 3 so 4 , 5 , 6 ,7 getting our result of 7.(In algebraic terms- for a+b we count b numbers after a).Though this method is always correct we dont use this always for bigger quantities as it is very tiresome. For a recap on basic addition you may watch this video-Visit for recap of carryover addition
- Subtraction-The operation that is responsible for finding the difference between 2 numbers or quantities accordingly. It is denoted by "-" and for give the difference the "=" sign is used For e.g- When we are asked to find the difference between- 15 and 9 we subtract 9 from 15 i.e 15-9=6 , To find the difference between 2 numbers we use the same method just backwards. For instance- 6-3 , we go backwards from 6(exclude) to 3 so we get- 5, 4, 3 (3 numbers) so difference is 3.Similar to addition this method is quite uneffective for higher numbers.
